Aivaras started his career 20 years ago in the sales and business development area. His first knowledge about customers, relationships, and negotiations came from being in retail. After that, he spent 9 years in distribution - in between vendors and retailers, introducing big brands (like Asus, and Microsoft...), establishing their presence in 7 countries (he was responsible for Scandic's + Baltics).
For the last 13 years, Aivaras has been very much involved in the startup area - he was a sales director in a new Lithuanian brand startup company - Deeper (www.deepersonar.com). His responsibility was launching sales and business development from 0, so doing everything - starting from searching partners Worldwide, trade shows, online / offline sales, influencers, marketing, branding, etc. He with the team reached a 10 mln euro/year turnover after 5 years; exporting to over 50 countries. Aivaras was leading about 20 international professionals team, highly motivated people willing to follow the example and reach great goals.

Today Aivaras has two separate businesses he is pushing forward:
1) For 6 years he has been co-founder and Chief Sales Officer in another hardware Lithuanian startup - millo smart blender , where the challenge is even bigger, as well as potential. The journey still continues...
2) And from 2024 he is Head of USA Sales and Development in KIKA Group, the biggest pet food and cosmetics producer in this region. Aivaras main responsibility is to grow USA operations and sales, on a big scale in the next few years.

1) Do long-term, sustainable business; build business relationships. Don't run for short-term goals.
2) Keep your word. Business = people. Not products, not company name. People.
3) Be fanatic and full of energy about what you do. Be positive!
4) Lead by example. Forget being a manager, be the Leader.
5) Create a team similar to you. Only great TEAMS can do big results. The one-man show is over.

I am an Assistant Professor of Strategy at INSEAD. I hold a PhD in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from London Business School.

In my research, I study the drivers of organizational innovation, focusing on how changes in appropriability and competitive environments affect the generation and use of trade secrets, investments in new technologies, and product launches and updates. My ongoing work spans industry studies in the energy sector, digital platforms, and medical devices, as well as cross-industry settings.

My research has been published in Management Science and the Strategic Management Journal, and has been recognized by the SMS Research in Strategic Management Award as well as the Strategy Research Foundation Dissertation Award. My dissertation won the TIM Division Best Dissertation Award and was a finalist for the STR Division Wiley Blackwell Outstanding Dissertation Award. I was also a Thomas Edison Innovation Law and Policy Fellow at the Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation Policy.

I currently serve on the Editorial Review Board of Organization Science.

I hold a double MSc in Economics and Public Policy from École Polytechnique and Sciences Po Paris. Prior to joining academia, I held research roles at Google and the European Commission.

Algirdas Ziogas received his PhD from the University of Zurich (in 2001) and has over eighteen years of life sciences experience in Switzerland with emphasis on cancer, virology, stem cell research and tissue engineering.
He has been responsible for large multinational EU FP6, FP7 and Swiss National Fund and CTI funded projects. Algirdas has been involved in the rational design and screening of therapeutic molecules for tissue engineering application, establishment of in vivo models, imaging and innovative medical devices in the international network of academic institutions and partners in industry. This led to the successful patent applications, preclinical proof of concepts and several “First-in-Man” studies.
Algirdas also has passion for photography, mountains and teaching and has been involved in the organization of conferences as well courses, workshops, TV programmes, lectures and web conferences for students, scientists and physicians.
