Dr. Ieva Žumbytė is a gender and political sociologist. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice, University College Dublin, Ireland. Her research examines how policy actors shape welfare systems and how welfare systems shape gender inequality. She has conducted many quantitative and qualitative research projects and published in various academic journals and policy outlets. Besides academic research, Ieva consults international organizations on gender equality, childcare and related policy issues. Before her PhD, Ieva worked in the World Bank’s Social Development Department researching policy issues on gender, social exclusion, poverty and social impacts of policy reforms in the Global South. Her country experience includes the EU (Ireland, Lithuania, UK), India, and Vietnam. Ieva holds a Ph.D. and MA in Sociology from Brown University, USA, an MA in Economics from University College London, UK, and a dual BA in Economics from Edinburgh Napier University, UK and ISM School of Management and Economics, Lithuania.
Ieva was one of the coordinators of LT Big Brother project - USA region from 2012 to 2016.
